The Straight Line Syntax — Workflow

Jordan Belfort's Straight Line System, on one line — exactly how he draws it on the whiteboard.

Front half (top row) Back half — looping (bottom row) Close Customers for life
1Take control
Sharp · enthusiastic · expert → they defer & hand you control.
2Gather intel
Ask, don't talk. Needs, money, beliefs, pain points.
3Build rapport
Active listening + tonality ("I care · I'm like you").
4Transition
Qualified? continue. If not, exit honestly.
5Present
Line up the 3 tens. Frame, don't front-load.
6Ask for the order
End with urgency · benefits then shut up. Ends the front half.
if MAYBE ↓ — into the BACK HALF
Their answer
YES → buy (rare)NO → exit (rare)MAYBE → loop ↓
7Deflect objection
Don't answer head-on: "the idea makes sense, right?"
8Loop ↺
Every loop ends in another ask.
① Three Tens — raise certainty
② Action threshold — lower it
③ Pain — add it back
↺ repeat until yes · most close on loop 3–5
9Close
YES → stop selling · collectNO → callback / nurture
10Customers for life
Ongoing value → repeat buys + referrals.
